In addition to my duties at BAE Systems, I teach CS491, the Industry-Sponsored Capstone Design Project class at GMU. This class puts the student teams in real-world project scenarios, with actual projects that are delivered to industry sponsors. The students gain experience with both the software development and project management lifecycles as they work from RFP through proposal, design, development, and delivery.

Responsible for all aspects of design and development for BAE Systems' Cyber Security Products group. These products include STOP, an extremely secure general-purpose operating system, and Cross Domain Solutions the XTS Guard and the XTS Diode.

Head of software development. We had about 25 different products that we developed/maintained. At any given time 8 or 10 were in active development.My major contributions were the institutionalization of n-tiered architectures, and of a more robust development environment and methodology. We went from CMMI Level 1 to the essence of CMMI Level 4 in about 2 years. Though we did not get certified, we were instantiating project-specific processes based on organizational policies, and measuring, comparing , and tuning process performance.
