Larry D. Hill is the Founder and CEO of Hill Security Institute, LLC. He is a native of St. Louis, Missouri and currently resides in South Florida. Most of his career is highly noted and regarded among his colleagues and community leaders of Memphis, Tennessee. Hill holds a Master's of Science in Criminal Justice from Bethel University, as well as a Master's of Science in Christian Studies from Union University. He also holds a Bachelor's of Science in Criminal Justice from Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri. As a retired Chief Inspector of the Community Operations Bureau | School Support Services for the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Hill has over 36 years of experience in law enforcement and public safety. Hill achieved many ranks, such as Chief Inspector, Acting Inspector, Captain, Lieutenant, and Sergeant. Hill has experience in courts, patrol, fugitive, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), community policing, narcotics, street crimes, and Burglary, Robbery, and Auto Theft Squad (BRATS) detective. As a former Commander of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Training Academy, Hill has garnered instructional leadership expertise in preparing vast areas of law enforcement curricula for numerous law enforcement personnel. Hill is currently employed at Cypress Bay High School in Weston, Florida as the Security Specialist. He serves as a criminal justice adjunct professor at Florida Memorial University. Larry holds numerous certifications and licenses, including the Georgetown University McCourt School of Public Policy Executive Certificate. He has served as Vice President of the Memphis Metropolitan Chiefs of Police Association. Attended the prestigious Southeastern Command and Leadership Academy at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga. Hill has successfully completed training at the National Association of School Resource Officers and a member of NASRO. Hill is involved in remaining current in law enforcement and Safe Schools Security trends.
