Boston attorney Larry Silverstein has been practicing in the areas of tax, real estate, and corporate law for nearly 40 years. After graduating from Harvard Law School magna cum laude, he clerked for the Honorable Herbert P. Wilkins on the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts. Following this, Larry Silverstein joined global legal firm Bingham McCutchen LLP, where he continues his practice today.Larry Silverstein has received several honors for his work. From 2004 through 2011, he achieved recognition by Super Lawyers and was named a leading attorney in tax law by The Best Lawyers in America in 2011. He has also been requested to speak on tax law on numerous occasions, and has presented before professional organizations such as the Federal Tax Institute of New England Inc. and the New York University Institute on Federal Taxation.Combining solid legal experience with business and real estate expertise, Larry Silverstein has also served as President of real estate management and development company Cohen Properties, Inc. Serving with the company for two years in the mid-1980s, attorney Silverstein built experience that continues to serve him as he advises on major business and real estate transactions at Bingham McCutchen. In his tenure with the firm, he has advised on major real estate transactions for clients buying from and selling properties to major companies such as Stop & Shop Supermarkets and Starwood Hotels and Resorts. Silverstein has also advised on corporate mergers and acquisitions, including a $10 billion merger that resulted in the nation's third-largest real estate money management firm.Larry Silverstein is admitted to practice in Massachusetts before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, the Massachusetts District of the United States District Court, and the United States Tax Court. He belongs to the Boston Bar Association, the Massachusetts Bar Association, and the Tax Section of the American Bar Association.
