I first experienced the power and impact of the cloud during my internship in Chicago in 1995, when I used CompuServe to connect with fellow Dutchmen. At that time my fascination for IT started. Back home I bought my first Intel Pentium PC and was amongst the first Dutch people with an internet connection at home (http://www....). In the last year of my studies I read about all the developments and trends in IT, helped friends with configuring PCs and connecting them to the internet, and it was clear to me that I wanted to work in IT. Right after my graduation I started working in a sales/marketing trainee role with Microsoft/Gooiconsult focused on retail. Two years later I switched to a sales/management role with one of Microsoft's key distributors Tech Data. In 2000 I started working for Microsoft Netherlands, as program manager licensing. In 2005 I switched to a strategic regional role and worked closely with Microsoft Corp in Redmond, LATAM, Asia, and EMEA regional teams. In 2013 I returned to Microsoft Netherlands in a territory sales management role, focused on local & regional government. Since 2015 I am working with key partners in The Netherlands on partner transformation and business development to support Microsoft's overall mission: 'empower every person and organization on the planet to achieve more'. Since 2019 I have shifted focus to telecommunications (telco) partners in The Netherlands to drive strategic partnerships and business development activities to empower our joint customers with modern workplace, voice, security, productivity and public cloud solutions.
