Ms. Blake has more than 20 years of experience leading scientific programs, projects, and initiatives of varying size, scope, and complexity in the government, not-for-profit, and private sectors. During her career, she has supported and partnered with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and other federal and state government agencies, served as the Surface Water Section Chief for the U.S. Geological Survey New England Water Science Center, and was the Director of the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection’s Watershed Protection Program. Ms. Blake has a deep understanding of federal and state environmental regulations and is an expert on the Clean Water Act. She has spent her career designing and implementing data-driven solutions to tackle complex scientific and public policy challenges in the environmental science and policy domain. She has subject matter expertise and specialized skills in surface water quality restoration and protection and has extensive experience designing water resources investigations to support efforts to protect human health and aquatic environments. She is effective at communicating complex concepts to varied audiences and routinely communicates priority topics, key issues, and emerging topics to decision-makers in government, as well as to diverse public audiences. Ms. Blake has extensive experience providing program management and technical leadership on large federal and state contracts with multiple ongoing work assignments and task orders. She understands the importance of delivering high quality technical services in adherence with budgetary and schedule commitments, while also ensuring that other contractual requirements are met.
