Ela Curriculum Specialist
CurrentAs the ELA Curriculum Specialist, serves as a resource to all school leaders and teachers in the realm of literacy instruction. Communicates and implements network vision for instructional excellence. Researches and develops rigorous K-4 literacy curriculum, drawing from the expertise of renowned literacy innovators such as Irene Fountas and Gay Su Pinnell. Writes and revises units of study for literacy components in all grades. Trains and develops school leaders in their expertise of curricular content and instructional pedagogy in order to foster academic growth within their schools. Designs and facilitates purposeful professional development to ensure rigorous implementation of curriculum by all teachers. Leads new teacher training on topics such as literacy strategies, data driven instruction and common core planning. Communicates with school leaders to ensure key stakeholders are aligned in educational goals. Partners with school leaders to develop systems to improve teacher performance and establish metrics to assess growth. Coaches K-4 teachers in multiple schools across the network, in order to improve teaching practices and academic outcomes.
