Laura oversees a diverse team responsible for providing service, advice and operational support to clients and partners across the organization. This includes the RBC Insurance Advice Centre, Creditor Operations, Claims, Client Acquisition & Service, Operational Risk Management and Shared Services. Laura is active in the community and dedicates her volunteer time to many organizations, including cancer and other health related causes. She served on the Board for the Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation for nine years and, in 2011 and 2012, was the Honorary Chair for the Weekend to End Women’s Cancers in support of Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto. Laura serves on the Board of Governors for Western University, Chairs the University’s Fundraising and Donor Relations Committee and is a member of the Senior Operations Committee. An advocate for youth in disadvantaged circumstances, Laura received the 2012 Leader for Kids award from the Community Child Abuse Council in Hamilton, Ontario for her dedication to this important cause. Laura went on a volunteer trip to Kenya in 2013 with Me to WE to participate in community development activities, including building a school dormitory. In May 2016, Laura received a “Fierce & Fabulous” Award from Peel Children’s Aid Foundation, to recognize her support for this charity that helps vulnerable at-risk children. In 2016, she was recognized as a WXN Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award Winner, an honour celebrating fearless female leaders whose efforts to succeed continue to inspire others. Laura has an undergraduate degree and Ivey Executive MBA from Western University in London, Ontario. She also holds her Institute of Corporate Directors and Personal Financial Planning designations from the Canadian Securities Institute.In her free time, Laura enjoys cottage life, running, skiing, golf and travelling with her husband Richard. Richard is a C.A. and Partner with Deloitte.
