The First 100 Years (www.first100years.org.uk) is a truly ground-breaking project charting and celebrating the journey of women in the legal profession. Launched in 2014 by Obelisk Support with the support of the Law Society, the five-year project began with the aim of creating an online library of 100 videos about women who have shaped the legal profession since the Sex Disqualification (Removal) Act 1919 paved the way for women to become lawyers to present day.Despite the vast improvements that have been made in the legal sector to ensure women lawyers are given the same opportunities and are viewed as equal to their male counterparts, there is still much, much work to be done. Breaking the glass ceiling, guaranteeing equal pay, and adapting modern working life to reflect women with families are all fundamental rights women deserve in the workplace.
