Working in collaborative teams inside and outside the classroom has allowed me to apply engineering principles while exploring unique solutions; I enjoy solving different problems that arise in daily situations. In my current role at Soane Materials, I am leveraging my technical background in polymer science with my analytical skills to design sustainable material solutions for consumer and industrial applications. As an applied materials intern at Meta, I investigated fluorochemical-free hydrophobic and oleophobic coatings for soft goods by collaborating with vendors and executing a test plan to validate performance. While obtaining my Master’s degree in Macromolecular Science and Engineering, I investigated a new class of recyclable thermosets (vitrimers) for digital light processing 3D printing and explored their actuation capabilities for soft robotics applications after establishing optimal print parameters. As a materials engineer, I enjoy developing materials that meet the direct needs of the consumer while prioritizing sustainable practices.
