I completed my placement at aap3, a global IT services and recruitment provider, in June 2014 as part of my degree at Aston University. I was based in the marketing department and my responsibilities covered marketing campaigns, social media, marketing research, CSR and PR. My time at aap3 was very exciting as I was able to put my knowledge from my two years of studying at University into practice and the company's sponsorship of Southampton FC. I made my mark at the company by setting up the company blog, boosting their social media efforts and contributing to the overall marketing campaigns of the organisation.

The flagship software product is Opsview Enterprise, an award-winning, enterprise-grade monitoring solution used by global brands such as Telefonica, BT, UPS, IBM, VMware, Allianz, Daimler, Ericsson, Symantec, Siemens, BSkyB and ThalesDuring my summer placement there I was involved with building lists of potential customers and getting into contact with them which strongly developed my customer facing skills in a much more commercial context. I was also able to learn about the other functional areas such as marketing and HR because of the size and nature of the business.
