Elected Committee Member. I served on the Search and Hire Committee, conducting interviews. I also assisted on the Re-entry Committee for the COVID-19 Pandemic, supporting in-person and hybrid learning and served on the Wellness and Communications Committees.

Hingham

Taught World History, U.S. History and an American Literature course. Spearheaded and led the first Hingham High School trip to Japan in 2014, focused on culture and history. Leading a team of educators and students on a successful ten day experience, we participated in cultural exchange in across ten cities in Japan, a country where I previously taught. AFS Faculty Advisor facilitating the intake of international students to the Hingham community.

Cohasset High. 2010-2011. Taught Honors U.S. History I and II, Sociology, Global Studies and a Media and Literature course (including research and media production). Courses included debates, simulations, Apple technology integration, and historical research papers. Integrated Humanities program emphasized interdisciplinary skills, and incorporated reading, analyzing and writing about novels (i.e. Founding Brothers, Brave New World, Amusing Ourselves to Death).

Honolulu

Summers 2009 and 2010. US History II Instructor. Teaching in an indigenous Hawaiian school, my course emphasized development of writing and presentation skills. Worked with local staff to spearhead, organize and lead a research field trip to connect students with local history including Pearl Harbor/USS Arizona visit.

Punahou Academy, Summer ‘08. Course included debates, art analysis and research, historical reenactments, and museum field trip. Students created period newspapers and wrote responses to All Quiet on the Western Front, creative pieces and a historical research paper.

Honolulu

While a full time Masters of Education student, I tutored over 100 diverse undergrads and graduate students in composition and research writing.

Ueda, Japan

Taught English individually, and as a co-teacher with Japanese colleagues. Instructing secondary students and adult groups with interactive geography activities and international awareness projects. As a designated Teacher Leader, led workshops to develop school and international community relations, and organized community activities.
