Lauren Green graduated special distinction from the University of Oklahoma in 2022 with a bachelor's degree in print journalism from Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication. She also studied political science. Currently, she serves as a congress reporter for National Journal and is pursuing a master’s in advertising with a journalism minor at the University of Texas at Austin in order to grow her design and data analytic skills. She is interested in American politics, breaking news and the energy transition.Lauren's experience in her college years stretches across many spheres that have led her to become a well-rounded writer. She developed breaking news skills while working as a political reporter in Washington for Gaylord News. In this fellowship, she learned from mentors while working on hard deadlines. She also worked as a creative intern for Lindsey + Asp Advertising and Public Relations Agency where she furthered her knowledge of page design and crisis communication. She began her writing career as a daily reporter for the OU Daily. In this position, she flipped press releases with tight deadlines and became proficient in AP style.Through opportunities at OU, she gained relevant experiences in journalism and political science. She had opportunities in national security and intelligence throughout her time as an IC CAE Scholar. Lauren worked closely with many mentors to learn essential skills within the journalism profession.
