During three decades plus of Federal Service (Department of Navy and Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration), I have grown from a technical performer into a project and program manager and from a supervisor to an organizational leader with senior management responsibilities. I have experience with several major agencies and Cabinet Departments, as well as with the operations of the Congress. Throughout my steady progression through increasingly responsible positions of leadership and management I have been successful not just because of technical excellence, professional expertise, effective problem solving, and creativity, but also because I have been highly effective at team-building, communications, and forming and strengthening coalitions. These latter aspects rely on both skill in identifying the right people for specific jobs and having the people skills to enable team members to excel both as individuals and as members of the group.As a part of my collateral duties, I have served as the President of the African American Diversity Network and the Vice-President of Blacks In Government – Khalfani Chapter. In a collaborative effort between the two groups, I lead efforts to help improve human resource policies, processes, practices, and systems to ensure that all employees have an equal opportunity to be competitive.I went on to continue my service with the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) as Deputy Director for the Systems Analysis Staff, Mission Integration Directorate (MID) where I provided critical and analytical products to support the War Combatant’s. I also led efforts to revitalize and execute bi-monthly MID Forum for Collaborative Development activities across the NRO Directorates. In June 2014, I was handpicked to serve as an NRO legislative liaison to Members of Congress, their staff and congressional committees. I subsequently became MID’s User Engagement Office Chief of Staff where he supported representatives to military, intelligence, civil, law enforcement and homeland security communities. In 2017, I was selected to become the Deputy Director, Office of Equality & Inclusion (OE&I), with responsibility for overseeing NRO’s OE&I program and the agency's diversity management and disability accommodations. In 2020, IC Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity Office Chief selected me to Chair the IC STEM Subcommittee.
