After nearly 15 years in Neonatal intensive care on the same ward, I found that Nursing and single parenthood did not mix and I resigned. After a couple of difficult years I started looking around for a suitable match for my life and found myself working briefly as a support worker. I quickly realised that with my Nursing and life experiences, this field was a great match for me. An ex patient contacted me and told me that she knew that "We Support U" were employing staff and recommended I give them a call? I applied to work as a support worker and before I knew it, I had a job as a support coordinator! This is a great job and more importantly, a great team! I love the support, flexibility and challenges too. A reinvention of self in my work life as well as my personal life has been kind to me and I look forward to growing in both over the next few years 😊
