I served on active duty as a signals intelligence analyst, primarily focused on Afghanistan. I was privileged to work with an international team with representatives from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the United Kingdom.I learned a lot about the differences between good and poor leadership from the examples set by people I worked with, and about the perils of how organizational dysfunction can lead to toxic work environments and the repercussions of working in those environments.I became interested in both physical and mental healthcare after experiencing and witnessing how quality care can dramatically improve people's lives.
