A senior media and communications professional with over 12 years’ experience in the Financial Services and Media industries, working across both the Corporate and Government sectors.Leanne was a Media Adviser to the Treasurer of Australia, the Hon Josh Frydenberg MP, during COVID-19 and was an integral part of developing, leading and managing media and communications for the Federal Government’s economic response to the pandemic.She has a thorough understanding of Treasury portfolio matters including financial services and regulatory reform of the sector, superannuation, the economy, the federal budget, housing, tax, foreign investment, infrastructure and the macroeconomic themes driving government policy.Leanne was involved with managing communications for two federal budgets, two MYEFO’s, the Government’s response to the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry, the implementation of the News Media Bargaining Code and the Your Future, Your Super reforms to superannuation.Before working for the Treasurer, Leanne was a television presenter and finance journalist for Sky News and Your Money which involved reporting, commentating and interviewing across a range of financial topics, including local and global sharemarkets, bond markets, FX and commodities. She interviewed some of Australia’s top CEO’s and business leaders and conducted regular interviews with leading economists. Leanne was also involved with leading, launching and promoting Australia’s first free-to-air 24-hour business channel covering local and international business news. Prior to her career in television, Leanne worked for an ASX-listed Financial Services company where she gained experience across a number of roles in media, business development and financial advisory.
