Design, develop, select, source, negotiate cost and buy merchandise for the CBK divisions of COMPANY 2000 (gifts, home décor) and TRENDSETTER (lawn and garden). Annual orders received within these divisions have exceeded $18,000,000.00 with a sku goal of 900 and $7,000,000.00 with a sku goal of 525. Performed market research through the study of decorator magazines, competitor catalogs, wholesale markets, and shopping retail establishments to validate trends, product direction and create new trends. Worked with the sales force and the independent retailer to assist in: determining/establishing buying trends; creating prominent merchandising displays; increasing individual store real estate share. Attended any and all necessary trade shows to research the wholesale market, assisted when needed for set up. Assisted in catalog production and advertising campaigns. Established and monitored wholesale pricing, taking necessary adjustments/markdowns to ensure profitable margin requirements, exceeding requirements by over 10%, evaluated all products for reorders. Traveled as necessary in order to perform the duties outlined (away from the office approximately 50% of time). Travel included: domestic for major gift shows/markets as well as product research within the retail market; international, primarily India, Taiwan, Philippines, China, Hong Kong, Thailand and Korea, to source product and work with production facilities. Worked closely with both factories and agents in these countries to develop product, to include packaging and strict quality standards. With IT department sourced, purchased and recreated a web based Product Lifecycle Management platform. Created processes workflows for Product Acquisitions Department and procedures for all product changes. Trained 5 new product managers on all internal procedures as well as mentoring in how to develop product for the home décor industry, one of which now is Creative Team Lead.

Responsible for buying, visual display, inventory analysis, budget forecast and policy. Created a profit and loss worksheet and statement used by all merchandise locations to reconcile budget requirements, maintained sales of 675K in a six month season. Responsible for all personnel functions, maintaining staff of up to fifteen, evaluations, payroll budgeting, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
