Supervises daily activities of 8 Communicable Disease Investigators, providing ongoing coaching, mentorship, and quality assurance checks to team members. Collaborates with cross-functional teams including State, local, and non-profit partners to develop disease response mitigation strategies, respond to shifts in public health recommendations, and address data tracking and reporting challenges. Manages relationships with internal and external stakeholders, delegates project tasks, facilitates meetings to inform, solicit feedback, build consensus, and ensure adherence to project deadlines.

Liaised with State and Local Health Jurisdictions (LHJs), Non-profit, and NGOs to mitigate peak COVID-19 surges across four different Counties in California. Conducted 500+ case, contact tracing, and exposure event investigations. Mentored state re-directed staff through Virtual Training Academy on case management, contact tracing, COVID-19 epidemiology, vaccine communication, and outbreak investigations. Revised and implemented workflows and standard operating procedures for case, contact, school and business outreach at LHJs.

University Of Puerto Rico - Mayaguez

Supported conference design of RISE-Puerto Rico 2018 which included stakeholders from 20+ mainland universities, local NGOs, community members, and federal agencies to improve disaster response, public health, and resiliency efforts in Puerto Rico post-Hurricane Maria. Completed policy overview of Puerto Rican energy landscape including future role of micro-grids, utility reform challenges, and Renewable Portfolio Standards.

Peru

Fundraised and co-managed project with NGO and local government to install 11 chlorination systems and trained 15 water system operators which improved water quality for 750+ families. Performed and coordinated household visits to educate 40+ families on water storage, sanitation, and hygiene practices. Surveyed over 25 community leaders on water system infrastructure and service delivery performance. Input and managed district-level water and sanitation outcomes into a Peruvian National Database which helped secure $86,000 in additional funding.

Sitka, Alaska, United States

Worked on family-owned commercial fishing vessel for eight seasons in sustainable fisheries in Southeast Alaska. Helped land over 2 MM lbs of salmon, halibut and sablefish valued at $800k+. Earned roles of increasing responsibility, including managing deck and galley, training new crewmembers, and navigating vessel. Ensured compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.
