I am a Defence materials scientist with over 30 years experience in advanced materials and manufacturing technologies. My interests include structure property relationships of materials; hydrogen assisted cracking of high strength steel weldments; fatigue and fracture; and the effect of material properties on the survivability and safety of Defence platforms. My mantra is that advances in materials technologies are on the critical path to the development of many potentially disruptive Defence capabilities.
