MuLISSA ProjectThe project consortium consists of three companies – Cochlear, the European Institute for Otorhinolaryngology, and Hoorzorg Van Looveren – and one knowledge center, the University of Antwerp.All consortium partners feel a strong need for more telehealth solutions to serve more patients. Thisproject focusses on a central element in hearing care, namely speech audiometry. It is currently onlyavailable in the clinic, due to its reliance on special audiological equipment such as sound booths, andcertified audiological staff. This project will investigate the feasibility of reliable self-testing outside of theclinic, e.g. at home environment, and how to do this across languages. For the clinical partners, a successfulproject outcome, leading to the incorporation of telehealth services, will lead to efficiencies in the careprovision, enabling higher quality and user satisfaction at less cost to serve, enabling them to serve morepatients. For Cochlear, a successful project outcome will allow to integrate a multilingual speech testing inits Remote Care portfolio. As such, a reliable home diagnostic on hearing is already tremendously usefuland will offer a competitive advantage. In the longer term, it is also an enabler for new services such asoutcome prediction and artificial intelligence support for device fitting.

European Observatory of Online HateResponsible for compiling and annotating the Italian hate speech lexicon.The project:"The European Observatory of Online Hate is a project supported by the European Commission’s Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme Call. Textgain together with Dare To Be Grey, Hogeschool Utrecht and PCDS will undertake a two-year investigation into and reporting on the fundamental nature of the dynamics of online hate, how hate manifests itself, the connections between the perpetrators and their influence as well as disinformation strategies.At the centre of this investigation is the development of a monitoring tool using cutting edge AI which will be available in the 24 working languages of the European Union."For more details: www.eeoh.eu
