Since early 2022, I've been working at Laserfiche on the Cloud Infrastructure team. I work with AWS, Kubernetes, Python, PowerShell and Bash to create/maintain/deploy containerized applications, as well as create and document backup and restore processes for VMs and databases containing customer data. I also led my team in security scanning and vulnerability mitigation for our codebase, and work on incident resolution, improving our automated processes, and writing system documentation on a regular basis.From 2019 to 2021, I worked at Microsoft on the Edge Engineering System Continuous Integration team. I worked with Azure, PowerShell and C# to create a management system for Virtual Machines (VMs), automate and document VM image creation, update VM deployment processes and migrate automated tests to new VM image versions. I also resolved incidents affecting the functionality of my team's services, and handled merge conflicts and testing/build failures as part of a org-wide effort to keep Microsoft Edge up-to-date with chromium changes.In 2018, I worked at Applied Predictive Technologies. I worked in C# to refactor an automation process for the configuration of system health sensors, and improved logging and monitoring jobs. During my internship, I engaged with users to learn their needs and design appropriate solutions, and gained experience about working in a DevOps role.The year before that, I interned at Quantcast. I worked in Java to refactor a data analysis pipeline to provide additional functionality, and integrated the pipeline with 3rd party APIs to acquire more input data as well as visualize its outputs. During my time there, I generated, implemented and compared different solutions to a given problem, and learned about coding for scale and working on established codebases in a production environment.In my first year, I worked on natural language processing with spaCy, database integration with MySQL, and code refactoring in Arduino at Elemental Machines. During my internship, I picked up and implemented various new skills, and learned more about the opportunities and challenges that startups face.I'm most comfortable with Python, but have had experience working with C/C#, Java, SQL, HTML/CSS, Javascript and Arduino (among others), and am looking for interesting projects with cool people - whether it be investigating one of my areas of expertise in greater depth or broadening my horizons by exploring a new field of software engineering!
