Joining ITV as the only in-house network resource to help deliver transformation from tape-based content delivery to file-based delivery over IP networks. I was instrumental in the replacement of a legacy network that supported only live SD video contribution. This was replaced with a network supporting HD live video contribution and multi 10Gbps wavelengths to support movements of large file-based video content.As part of the changes, I helped manage media storage systems and introduced via proof of concepts (initially as part of a team of two), file acceleration systems to move media, media asset management and orchestration to ensure the end to end movement of media from post production to transmission. This capability started small but was built upon and now is a significant function within ITV.During this time, I also designed post-production networks, overhauled internet access replacing proxies with layer 7 capable firewalls, overhauled datacentre architectures including introducing VMWare NSX and introducing connectivity to Amazon Web Services.In this role I built and managed a network engineering team.

Network Design of new datacentre for ANZ National Bank. Responsibilities included producing detailed network design documentation and planning the migration of services from other datacentres being decommissioned.Overhauled the wireless network of Fonterra including troubleshooting and remediating client driver issues, wireless surveys of sites including a container port and presenting and implementing recommendations. The wireless network was causing significant issues including the delays in loading container ships. At the end this the work all issues were resolved.
