About Les Mclean

An as executive specializing in operations management, with experience gained in the chemical, manufacturing and consumer goods industries, my expertise includes company restructuring, general management, negotiation, change management, continuous improvement, operations, logistics and customer service. I am absolutely focused on continuous improvement and implementing business systems that improve the customer experience as well as minimize waste. Throughout my years in operations and manufacturing, I have become committed to reducing waste and better utilizing resources as demonstrated by the unique system developed at Bessemer where old cookware was recycled to make new cookware.I have been involved on both sides of the acquisition and divestment table as well as the downstream business reorganizations resulting from business ownership changes. My change management experience includes implementing occupational health and safety systems, a quality assurance system to ISO 9001 and an MRP system. I addition I have managed capital equipment, office refurbishment as well as factory and warehouse relocation projects. Other experience includes training and implementation of a continuous improvement system, implementing lean principles and value stream mapping (VSM).My personal approach as a manager includes being highly focused on providing support and leadership to company personnel with a view to continuing to develop staff .During the COVID pandemic of 2020-2021, the Maui Jim Australian DC has continued to operate and provide exceptional service to it customers.
