With over 18 years of experience in school counseling and education, I am passionate about empowering families and students to achieve their academic and personal goals. As a Family Outreach Representative at Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS), I work with a diverse and inclusive team of counselors, teachers, and administrators to provide support, guidance, and resources to families and students in need. I also leverage my management and public speaking skills to coordinate and facilitate workshops, events, and programs that promote family engagement, student wellness, and academic success. Previously, I served as a School Counseling Department Chair in VBCPS, where I led and supervised a team of 7 counselors, and as an Online Summer School Counselor, where I provided online counseling services to over 1,000 students each summer. I hold a MEd in Counselor Education from Old Dominion University, and an endorsement in Educational Leadership from Longwood University. I am committed to enhancing the quality and accessibility of counseling and education for all families and students in our community.
