About Lew Gitelman

I am a non-traditional learner. Conventional schooling never worked for me. As a co-director at reDesign, I use my educational struggles as a springboard, and developed a student-centered model for teaching and learning that supports young people who are slipping through the cracks of our education system. The projects I am passionate about are those that support schools and districts in making school a place where the cracks are too small for students to fall through.Specialties: education consulting, principal and teacher coaching, literacy strategies, curriculum development, Framework of Effective Instruction, Structured English Immersion using the Sheltered Immersion Observation Protocol (SIOP), Higher Ordered Thinking (Developing Depth of Knowledge and Rigor)
