My current research focuses on how FTIR spectroscopy could be used for cancer diagnostics. The latest work from our group is investigating the feasibility of FTIR spectroscopy to be used for the detection of circulating tumour cells.

PhD student at Keele University in Cancer Studies. My PhD work is focused on the use of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) to study lung cancer cells and the potential FTIR has as a diagnostic tool for lung cancers. Developed an excellent knowledge of key concepts underpinning many fields of biological sciences including molecular biology, biochemistry, biomedical science and parasitology. I completed numerous practicals in the laboratory learning good and safe laboratory practice. Working with others in the laboratory in small groups taught how to effectively operate as part of a team within the laboratory.
