I am a senior at North Carolina State University who loves learning new things and applying what I learn. I am currently studying to achieve my bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and maintain a GPA over 3.00. In addition to my academics, I am a driven swimmer and have been heavily involved with my university's club swim team for the past three years. I am a high performer at meets and compete at our league's national championships every year. I also stay involved with the club outside of practice and meets by designing our swim caps and serving as the community service officer. As the community service officer, I organized our team's annual PJ meet, where instead of paying meet dues teams send in children's pajamas which we donate to the local hospital. I have also shown my enthusiasm for swimming by working at the head coach for the Crismark Comets, my neighborhood's summer league swim team. As a head coach I gained valuable experience on how to teach and explain skills and how to manage the other coaches to ensure practices went smoothly. During my time as head coach our team was able to achieve an undefeated season and climb 3 divisions in our league. My love of swimming led me to start lifeguarding a local pools. I am currently employed as a lifeguard supervisor by North Carolina State University, but have also worked in management positions at Swim Club Management Groups and Carolina Pool management. Working as a lifeguard taught me several important lifesaving skills such as CPR and First AID as well as important social skills through interacting with swimmers at the pool and the lifeguards I helped manage.Looking for experience in the engineering world, I accepted an internship at TRC companies this summer. While I have only been at TRC for a short time I have gained valuable knowledge and experience. I have gained hands on experience on what it is like working for an engineering company, and have greatly improved my professional communication skills, preparing me for full time work as an engineer. As I seek full time employment, I am excited to see what the future holds and what opportunities I will be presented with!
