In the role of the Duty Operations Assistant, I assisted with the smooth running of the Operations Department and provided support to the Duty Operations Controller on a day to day basis.My duties included holding responsibility for taking and organising customer bookings and requests for flights in advance of 24 hours’ notice; ensuring that all departments and the management team have the relevant information in order to run a smooth operation; ensuring that all areas are appraised of the latest information on each flight; and, liaising with and booking 3rd party suppliers as required. On occasion I also coverd the Duty Operations Controller role as and when was needed.

As a Customer Service Lead I perform all of the duties that are mentioned as a Customer Service Agent(manifesting and arriving cargo, transferring cargo, and screening cargo), but this role has an emphasis on answering calls from our Cargo Call Center when a shipment needs special attention, processing Dangerous Goods, meeting inbound international flights to clear cargo with US Customs, and making sure US Customs receives our paperwork declaring that we sent cargo on an international flight. Outside of just being Dangerous Goods qualified I have also been trained to use Editrade/AAMS to process different international shipments which could be transferred to us from another carrier or to clear an international shipment that is destined to travel to a city Alaska flies to. This process declares to US Customs as well as the final destination country what is being sent on our flight and who it is to be delivered to once it has arrived at the final destination.

Greater Seattle Area

As a Customer Service Agent I work specifically in the air cargo field for Alaska Airlines in Seattle. This means that I am trained to process inbound cargo to make sure it gets delivered on time as well as outbound cargo making sure that it makes booked flights and goes to the correct destination. I also work with our Cargospot computer program which allows me to preform the following duties: manifesting cargo on its booked flight, arriving inbound cargo, and making sure cargo is transferred on the flight line.I am also trained in processing Dangerous Goods as defined by IATA; this means that I handle many different types of materials that normally would not be accepted by a regular agent. Being qualified in this field also leads me to make sure when shipments are accepted for transport that they do not contain any hazardous materials that could cause any damage to the Alaska aircraft fleet.

As a GSA I work on the ramp at SeaTac International Airport with Horizon Air's Bombardier Q400 aircraft. My duties included: marshalling the planes in, downloading and uploading bags/cargo onto the planes, performing security searches, helping passengers to and from the planes, cleaning the lavs, using the push-back to get the planes off the gate, wing walking to guide the push-back out, working in the bagwell, and running the RAC bags from the planes to the bagwell so passengers can retrieve their bags in bag claim.

As an Apple Product Professional my job entailed showing off Apple's latest and greatest tech products, including demonstrating them to potential buyers, this where I honed my interpersonal communication skills and made relationships with the customers that came into the store. I also had to trouble shoot any device issues that customers brought in and make every attempt to fix the problem they were having. Any spare time I had was spent making sure that the products on the store shelves was stocked and faced properly, clean any of the device screens, and make sure all the devices were plugged into their charging cables.

When I started working at Brookstone as a Sales Associate I was tasked with demonstrating some of the newest gadgets available at the time; including the newest massage chairs, flying helicopters, and remote control cars. This is where I was able to start honing my interpersonal communication skills while working the cash register and doing the drone demonstrations at the front of the store which attracted many large crowds. When the store closed at night I was tasked with confirming the cash drawer counts with the manager/assistant manager before we closed the safe for the night.

While working the front desk at the Flying Heritage Collection I was responsible for greeting the customers that entered and was in charge of taking payment for the entry fee whilst answering any questions that came up via the phone. The desk was located in the gift shop area, which entailed making sure any gift items were displayed and priced correctly. On the flying display days I would be charged with setting up a mobile version of the gift shop and making sure we had stock to sell on the flight line, along with taking any payment for these items.
