I started using QuickBooks with version 1.0 as a novice who was my accountant's worst nightmare. I'd run 4 successful retail stores with a checkbook, and that worked until things got challenging, and I almost lost my business. Through painful lessons, I came out of those struggles as a strong financial leader of my business. Out of those experineces, I began working with Accounting for Success, offereing QuickBooks Support. I still provide QuickBooks support, as well as teach a monthly QuickBooks for Entrepreneurs class through Colorado Free University. Throughout the year, I also teach QuickBooks classes to CPAs through the Graduate Tax Program at DU. I'm currently developing online courses. My passion is teaching financial literacy to entrepreneurs so they can turn their investments of time, money, friends and family members into a profitable business--to make money, and have fun doing it. I was one of the owners of The Mole Hole stores in Vail, Writer's Square, Boulder Crossroads Mall and Riverfront Mall. Later, I was an owner of Postively Unlimited, Inc, located in the Tabor Center. Jean Yancey was an important mentor for me at this time in my life. The stores were an outlet for my creative nature and love of relationships. Prior work as the Director of the Pueblo County District Attoney's Consumer Fraud Unit, and a high school teacher of Home Economics and Consumer Education provided and unintended yet valuable foundation.
