Ireland
In June 2017 I founded Shabadoo Productions Ltd in order to produce an event, J Con. J Con is Ireland's newest anime, manga, cosplay and Japanese pop culture convention. (I have found a quick way to explain the concept is to mention "comic con".)The first edition was held on Saturday 11th November in Croke Park. J Con 2017 attracted 1,700 paying attendees. I was responsible for all aspects of the business and event. This included drawing up the business plan and raising finance, inviting special guest attendees, organising various content for the event, venue, insurance, security, managing a team of 70+ volunteers, as well as MCing on the day of the event. I also ran a successful marketing campaign on Facebook and Instagram (starting from zero to 1800+/1000+ followers respectively) and managed the event's website, which together were directly responsible for attracting the excellent number of attendees. If you would like to see more, please visit www.jconireland.com and follow J Con on Facebook and Instagram at @jconireland.
