A passionate advocate for my clients, I am a partner on the Medical Malpractice Litigation team. As a hardworking and determined litigator, I have earned a well-respected reputation among peers in the legal community. Health care providers, including doctors, large hospital systems, nurses, and dentists who have been accused of medical negligence, look to me for my unmatched work ethic.With more than 10 years of experience, I have tried cases in numerous counties throughout the middle and western parts of the state. I have successfully tried cases as both a first and second chair trial attorney. I have also assisted with appeals, including the drafting of appellate briefs, one of which resulted in a favorable published opinion by the Court of Appeals that is often cited and relied upon by fellow defense attorneys. In addition, I have successfully defended health care providers before other regulatory authorities, including the North Carolina Medical Board, North Carolina Board of Nursing, North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners, and the North Carolina Board of Physical Therapy Examiners. Prior to joining Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, I was an assistant state attorney with the Office of the State Attorney, Seventeenth Judicial Circuit in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I am licensed to practice law in North Carolina, Florida, and the District of Columbia.
