In December 2023 I was honoured to be named as the IoD NI 3rd sector Director of the Year.My role as Chief Officer of The Northern Ireland Boys' Brigade (BBNI) is to provide leadership to the team as we equip over 2,300 volunteer leaders in NI and Donegal who work with over 11,500 children and young people every week. I have successfully led the organisation through the formation of a new independent charity which is responsible for Boys' Brigade in Northern Ireland and Donegal. I am an experienced director and Chartered Manager with a breadth of experience in leadership, management, marketing, business development, strategy and income generation across a variety of sectors including commercial organisations, professional services and the third sector. My logical and strategic approach to business development, marketing and event management has enabled organisations to meet and exceed sales growth targets, forge new relationships, develop effective and comprehensive client care strategies and create new income streams. I enjoy managing and developing people to ensure creative and effective problem solving and efficient delivery of tasks, contributing to the growth of the organisation.I am a qualified trainer and excellent communicator with over 25 years’ experience in leadership, business development, strategy, resource management and marketing within a variety of organisations.I have proven success in:• Managing teams and developing staff to add value to the organisation• Design and implementing successful marketing strategies• Meeting and exceeding sales growth targets• Forging new relationships and building networks• Developing effective and comprehensive client care strategies• Creating new income streamsI also enjoy sharing my experience through mentoring and speaking engagements.
