Lisa is a member of the ACIS (Advanced Clinical Information System) core team. This is a multidisciplinary group that spans a network of ten hospitals. The work of this team involved the design, build and implementation of a comprehensive EMR (electronic medical record) including end-user training and "Go Live" support. The project is ongoing as new hospitals join the network and the EMR undergoes changes and upgrades.

Lisa Mancuso began her career as a staff nurse on a general medical floor providing care to a population that including respiratory illness, head injuries, and chronic ventilator and nutritional support. She later worked with patients with CKD (chronic kidney disease) requiring peritoneal dialysis. Most recently she works with cardiac patients in a step-down unit. Lisa has extensive experience with Aquapheresis, Cardiac Monitoring, Coronary Intervention, electrophysiology, and heart failure.

Medical Telemetry Unit: Responsibilities included providing care to patients with complex medical, renal, and cardiac issues. Taught Renal/Peritoneal dialysis classes to new staff members. Recorded a video to be used for Nephrology education. Continued to serve as preceptor to new staff nurses as well as to nursing students during their internship programs. Continued to serve as Charge Nurse for 32-bed unit.Career; as Care Manager for 20 hours a week, working closely with the Cardiology department and nursing staff to improve patient outcomes and decrease length of stay. Formed the Cardiology Collaborative, a multi-disciplinary group that met weekly to facilitate the care of our patient population. In this role was responsible for monitoring the use of Care Maps, analyzing the data that was collected, and presenting it to the appropriate forums, including the Board of Trustees.

Telemetry/ICCU 31 bed unit: Responsibilities include caring for patients with a wide range of cardiovascular issues, including pre- and post- pacemaker and ICD implantation, Electrophysiology and peripheral vascular procedures, as well as diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheterizations. Patient population includes individuals suffering from congestive heart failure requiring Aquapheresis. Regularly serves as charge nurse, facilitating patient flow and prioritizing patient and staff needs. Continues to serve as preceptor to new staff members and to nursing students.Career Highlight: In 2006 became part of the Caritas Network Core Team, a multi-disciplinary group formed to implement electronic documentation throughout the Caritas Network, now known as Steward Health Care. This ongoing project involves working closely with members from all ten hospitals to design and build our EMR (electronic medical record). Responsibilities include participation in End-User Training and "Go Live" implementation at the Steward hospitals.

Medical Telemetry Unit: Responsibilities included providing care for patients with a wide range of Cardiac problems requiring continuous telemetry monitoring. Also provided care to patients requiring CAPD and CCPD. Assumed Charge Nurse duty for 32-bed unit on off-shifts. Served as preceptor for new graduate nurses. Participated in and/or facilitated unit and hospital-based activities including a journal club and nursing grand rounds.Career Highlight: The Medical Center began work with the Center for Case Management to implement Care Mapping. Began collaboration with this committee and was involved with writing several Care Maps relevant to practice area. This project included training the nursing staff, overseeing the trials of these documents in the clinical areas and revising as necessary.
