Based in Edinburgh and East Lothian, we work with people and communities to develop innovative strategies and services to address social issues both locally and nationally. We provide support directly to communities in Edinburgh and the Lothians through our Positive Transitions and Reconnect services. Positive Transitions supports children, young people and their families through the transition from primary to secondary school, helping them feel valued and understood, improve their self-esteem and peer relationships, and enable them to fulfil their potential. Reconnect provides free digital drop-in sessions for adults and families in local community hubs in Edinburgh & the Lothians. We support people to learn how to access, use and afford a digital device and data, helping their overall health and wellbeing and removing the risk of digital and social exclusion.

As Fundraiser at Dads Rock, I built and developed relationships with business and community partners to raise income and awareness for the charity. This included organising fundraising events, writing funding applications, creating campaigns and supporting and encouraging our donors and fundraisers. I was also involved with our comms and marketing, creating and posting fundraising content on our socials and writing our supporter newsletters.

Part of a team of community researchers in North Edinburgh- developing research questions- arranging focus groups with community groups- conducting phone and face to face surveys- analysing survey data- writing evaluation reports

I was responsible for the marketing and administration of Renewable Energy training events held at partner universities in the UK and US. This included liaising with participants and lecturers, booking venues, travel and accommodation and producing resources and marketing materials. I also responded to course enquiries by email and phone and wrote marketing emails and blog pages for the website.

Regional Fundraiser - Scotland

Part of the small but energetic Business Development Team in this rapidly growing start-up I was responsible for generating leads, acquiring new clients and maintaining our CSL. I also supported the Business Development Manager in managing client accounts, along with assisting in other areas of the business, working fluidly across teams to achieve business wide targets.

Part of the EIFF Education and Learning team, my main focus was coordinating the EIFF 2018 Student Critics Competition as well as assisting in the delivery of wider education events at EIFF 2018.In order to secure as many competition entries as possible, I researched relevant outlets for promotion of the competition, marketing it to universities, colleges and student societies, as well as to a variety of film and journalism organisations throughout the UK and Poland. Marketing of the competition was a success and attracted a record number of applications that year.Aside from promoting the Student Critics Competition I was also responsible for recruiting professional film journalists to be programme Mentors and creating a schedule of screenings and events for the Student Critics. This involved working closely with other teams at EIFF and liaising with industry professionals and journalists.

I was responsible for various aspects of community and events fundraising at Waverley Care. This included sustaining and developing relationships with community groups, student societies and schools. I was also responsible for managing supporter participation in challenge and other sponsored events and for promoting these, and other Waverley Care events, to our supporter base via email and social media.I worked closely with our Fundraising Manager and other team members on all aspects of organising Waverley Care fundraising events. These events ranged from comedy nights for 50 people, to Come & Sing events with 400 participants, to our black tie fundraising dinner.

I provided invaluable support and expertise in the planning and administration of all of SCVOs events, from concept to on-the-day running of the event. I had a key role in running a variety of events from training courses for 12 people to The Gathering exhibition which sees over 3000 people through its doors over 2 days.

I played a significant role in the organisation and development of all the Schools Education Events at EIFF 2011. I was responsible for communicating with schools, taking bookings, organising guests and creating accompanying resources. I was also given my own project to organise – EIFF Young Talents 2011. For this I marketed the programme, selected participants, created a programme of events and invited and interviewed guests. I was also required to interview and select prospective volunteers for the Festival.

I taught Media Studies and Film Studies to students aged 14-19. This role required excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and included many creative and administrative elements, such as writing schemes of work, marking coursework and writing reports. I also taught practical coursework elements, including filming using digital video cameras and editing using iMovie on a Mac.
