I am passionate about social justice and human rights. The focus of my work over recent years has been young people's and adults' sexual and reproductive health and rights. I am delighted to have joined Brook, the young people's sexual health organisation in September 2017.I am a seasoned campaigner, trainer, advocate, writer and initiator of creative ideas to effect change. I am a fluent communicator: love writing, speaking and reaching people where they are with messages tailored for them - young people in pupil referral units, Baronesses in the House of Lords and everyone in between.In 2014 I was voted one of the top 10 tweeters on sexuality and development by the Guardian Global Development team for my twitter feed @rhmjournal.I am always looking for interesting challenges and ways to make the world a better place.

Made to mark the 50th anniversary of the 1967 Abortion Act it captures the stories of doctors and nurses who cared for those who'd experienced abortion, the women who experienced illegal abortion and coercive adoption, and the campaigners who fought for the new law. (Writer and co-Director)Worked with theatre company 20 Stories High as an educational consultant on a verbatim theatre project about abortion, 'I told my mum I was on an RE trip'.2016Made a series of films with the Open University based on testimony of young women who had participated in a research project on the experience of abortion which became part of the My Body My Life project2015Devised the interface and provided all the copy (summaries of resources) for the Youth Hub on the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) website. A website to encourage people to access IPPF resources for working with young people around SRHR. http://www.ippf.org/youthhub/2014Guidance for health commissioners on providing appropriate support for women choosing or considering abortion - published by Brook and FPA and endorsed by the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare. I had the honour of working for and eventually running the most beautiful charity ever : a feisty young people focused, reproductive rights education and campaigning organisation widely acknowledged to punch way above its weight.Working for EFC gave me an amazing breadth of experiences and skills including: campaigning and advocacy; project management; qualitative research, writing and editing for a range of audiences; training, Parliamentary and policy work; media, social media and more.Education For Choice is now a project within the excellent Brook young people's charity. EFC is still providing brilliant evidence-based information and education on abortion; still supporting teachers, health workers and youth workers to equip young people to prevent unintended pregnancy and make informed pregnancy decisions.
