Fundraising - it's a tough role but the job satisfaction is enormous - and I know it!I have worked in F2F fundraising & charity membership for over 15 years. I love the interactions with people, the stories you share, and the great things that come from those conversations. I also love the variety the role brings, from a range of venues, different locations to designing your eye-catching stands, but the best bit is inspiring people to support your cause, and the buzz from closing the deal. What's not to like!My last 6 years in fundraising was as Membership Area Manager for the RSPB, where I recruited, trained and developed a team of membership recruiters to high performance.Top achievements: . Lead my team to achieve the annual target in 7 months 2015 . Regularly exceeded personal membership targets . Negotiated large reductions in venue fees for membership stands i.e. freshers fairs. Negotiated several new high footfall venues for membership that had previously rejected our applicationsKey skills:Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to motivate and energise colleagues, leadership. articulate negotiator, coaching and mentoring training.Away from work, I have a touch of an 'adrenaline junkie' in me, having skydived twice in NZ, paraglided, parasailed, and black water rafting in OZ. On a more normal day, I love to walk my 10,000 steps somewhere in nature or weight train (handy for lifting those gazebos!). I also make a mean veggie curry and am a bit addicted to the Rubiks cube!
