I’m an Economics graduate, researcher, and lecturer who is launching my career as a business and economic analyst. I’ve been introduced to data-based policy, strategy, and decision-making best practices, and I’m passionate about helping companies make decisions that facilitate global equity and economic wellbeing.I offer foundational experience in making data- and information-based decisions that achieve the best possible outcomes for clients, businesses, and targeted economic groups. A client-focused, meticulous analyst, I’m valued for my dedication to creating public value and my ability to thrive equally in independent and team-based environments.CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:• Expedited the Red Cross’s provision of AU$13M+ of COVID-related financial support to temporary visa holders by assessing 248 applications in less than 10 weeks and securing a 76% approval rate.• Instrumental in elevating IEMP to a leading disaster risk management researcher in academic, institutional, and local communities by contributing to the production and dissemination of one book and four research articles.• Played a key role in creating the Observatory for Latin American Mining and, ultimately, increasing Colombia Punto Medio’s influence upon the creation of Colombian mining strategies and public policy. As an undergraduate and graduate economics student, I learned different theories of how to find the best outcome considering the limited number of possibilities in any decision-making process. My interest in these theories and methods led me to use them in a research environment, because I felt it was the best way to put everything I had learned to good use. My path to a Ph.D. led me to Australia, where the process of acclimating to a new country transformed me into someone who is comfortable with change, is open to learning anything, and is convinced that she can do an excellent job. Thanks to a job I held at the IGA when I first came to Australia, I have become aware of how business works from an operational point of view. Finally, I’ve learned that pushing yourself to step out of your comfort zone leads to extraordinary growth. When I’m not at work, I’m busy exploring Sydney. I especially love going for coastal walks, enjoying the landscape, and admiring the way the sky changes colours at sunset.Moving forward, I would like to grow and add to my economics and analytical skills in the business world so that I can facilitate real-time decision-making in real time and, through my contributions, improve the well-being of our society.
