Topic: Process Modeling and Forming Prediction for Toolless Dual-Robot Automated Fiber Placement• Developing predictive models for tape deformation by analyzing the dynamic interactions be­tween dual-robot end effectors and unidirectional carbon fiber (CFRP) tape in laser-assist layup processes.• Utilizing the MuJoCo multi-body simulation framework and custom algorithms to model the viscoelastic behavior of thermoplastic CFRP during melting, ensuring precise manipulation of forming geometries.

• Designed and built two highly energy-efficient solar-powered vehicles with a 40-person team over two years each, successfully competing in the 3022 km World Solar Challenge across the Australian Outback. • Collaborated with interdisciplinary teams to refine hardware design for manufacturability and seamless system integration, including two solar roof systems consisting of CFRP shells, solar modules, power electronics, wiring, and complex mechanical mechanisms. • Acquired expertise in rapid manufacturing technologies, such as CNC milling, industrial 3D printing (PEI), and water jetting, reducing total vehicle production time to under five months.

Topic: Modeling, Simulation, and Control of a Lower Limb Exoskeleton for Human Walking Augmentation• Developed a human locomotion model based on multibody dynamics in Simulink/Simscape, which resulted a natural walking motion and provide a simulation framework for human-exoskeleton interaction.• Designed a force control method with a “Human Joint Torque Estimator” and “Exoskeleton Transparency Controller” for active walking assistance, which shown the effective augmentation in the simulation.

• Completed an internship at Germa, a company specializing in engineering with composite materials, particularly in the prepreg-autoclave process for the high performance motor racing industry.• Led and managed the solar car manufacturing program, delivering high-quality results despite aggressive timeline and limited manpower during the global pandemic.

• Operated and maintained various machines for additive manufacturing (AM) process, including laser powder bed fusion (LPBF), wire electrical discharge machine, and sieve machine while working at a metal AM system manufacturer.• Utilized AM expertise to design and customize several 3D printed components to maximize the potential of the LPBF process, such as overhang-free modification, topology optimization and lattice structure generation.
