UVM Hillel is an identity center for Jewish Students at UVM. I chose to do a practicum internship at UVM Hillel to gain experience working with students who have an identity that I do not share. As their intern, I designed a Qualtrics survey to gauge what the Jewish student experience at UVM is like; for this survey, I interviewed nine students to gain a better understanding of their identities and what stories they felt have been unheard by the university. Field Manager for Grassroots Voter Outreach in partnership with the Human Rights Campaign. Trained daily on canvassing, connection building, and communication skills. Raised $12K+ and had conversations with 500+ members of the public throughout the summer.

The Women & Gender Equity Center (WAGE) is one of UVM's identity centers. As their practicum intern, I developed masculinity spaces to talk about masculinity in healthy ways and encourage vulnerability amongst those who identify with it. I cultivated community by keeping the space open for students late at night and interacting with students on the center’s social media. I also maintained and cared for the physical space of the center.

Through the LGBTQ+ Victory Institute's congressional internship program. Whipped votes for major legislation with bipartisan offices. Researched LGBTQ+ bullying cases in dozens of districts for the purpose of the passage of Safe School Improvement Act. Created flyers and content for social media pages. The mission of the Center for Student Success is to familiarize students with the multitude of resources available on campus and to help students make progress toward fulfilling their educational, social, and personal goals. As a Student Success Assitant, I was the first person a student sees when they walk through the doors. I was tasked with welcoming and helping students with what they needed whether it be scheduling an appointment, answering a question, or referring them to other resources.

Led six groups of 14-18 students throughout multiple orientation sessions; facilitated ice breakers and conversations between them to make them feel comfortable and welcome. Guided and helped students prepare for their first semester at the University of New Haven. During training, I presented a workshop on supporting transgender students to other orientation leaders.

Originally selected for the summer of 2020. Internship portion of program was postponed until the summer of 2021 due to COVID; professional development was all that was done in the summer of 2020.

Connecticut Fitness and Nutrition Clubs in Motion (CTFANSIM) program working under a UConn extension for the 4H organization. Led an elementary school afterschool program which involved teaching children about health, fitness, and nutrition. Tasks included creating lessons that children could understand, presenting those lessons to the children, and creating a positive learning environment.
