Data is a powerful tool...as long as you can get to it and make sense of it. I first caught the "data bug" working as an Industrial Engineer using data to analyze operations metrics. I kept thinking how much easier and more in depth reporting could be with improvements in the back end data structures. I shifted to Data Warehousing and never looked back!Ever since, I've been working to improve data quality and ease of use to support the breadth and depth of analytics and reporting for business users. I especially enjoy building relationships with stakeholders, bridging the gap between "business and IT", across many business units including Marketing, Operations, Human Resources, Finance and Accounting. I routinely perform complex solution engineering across many systems and teams. But, beyond that, I often see projects through end-to-end, leading teams from business case creation, requirements, solution engineering, implementation, and testing using both waterfall and agile methodologies.I have experience in multiple data modeling techniques, data warehouse/mart/lake/hub architectures, ETL best practices, and Master Data Management implementation. Having been through three very large, complex mergers and acquisitions, I also know first hand the challenges those bring to the analytics landscape and have implemented various data integration strategies. Most recently, I have been focused on strategies and roadmaps to move toward a more modern data architecture, leveraging Hadoop, NoSQL, near real time messaging for ingestion, streaming analytics, data science, data fabric, and Cloud Data Warehouse technologies. This can be a challenge in an environment with a large legacy footprint, but, as they say, "Its a Journey"!
