Family Advocate / Children'S Case Manager

Hired as the Family Advocate/Children's Case Manager to work with domestic violence victims and families at the Riley Center's Community Office (a division of St. Vincent de Paul); clients are referred to The Riley Center by FCS or by drop in. Share in the coordination, implementation and development of the Riley Center Children's Program and services. Conduct individual counseling, play/educational activities, child care, case management and advocacy with families. Utilize client-centered needs assessments, service plans and motivational interviewing to empower and motivate clients toward achieving goals related to housing, childcare, employment, benefits, legal services and other needs. Maintain and compile client records and service documentation, including active participation in staff and case management meetings. Link families to other services such as job training, credit counseling, Cal Fresh, or similar programs that promotes engagement. Completed several online and in-person trainings that include, domestic violence and substance abuse, Introduction to Motivational Interviewing, youth suicidal assessment, promoting health social and emotional learning and development, spiritual abuse and trauma responsiveness among LBGTQ & youth in foster care, transforming vicarious traumatization for child welfare professionals, and the CA mandated reporter training for social workers, child care professionals and school personnel
