As the Customer Marketing Coordinator, I work with the Insights and Loyalty team along with various other internal and external stakeholders to ensure that customers get the very best service possible. I am actively involved in streamlining the customer care resolution process and have been tasked with revamping the entirety of the customer care logging system (to come to fruition at the end of 2017). I oversee and work closely with our escalations team and other frontline agents to ensure consistent brand interaction across all our direct channels. Daily tasks include management of competitions and direct marketing, research and reporting on customer data, loyalty system administration assistance, processing of supplier invoices, taking over sufficiently escalated complaints/queries and seeing to it that they are resolved.

I have been offered a Maternity cover opportunity, after which I will return to my previous (permanent contract) post. As an advertising Specialist I work closely with various internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure that planned campaigns are carried out to a high degree of accuracy across all Ackermans channels, all within budget. I brief agency and publishers to ensure that national campaigns are carried out in the POS (To All Ackermans Stores) and standard ATL (TV, print etc.) environments. All Ackermans marketing for the months of August and November (2017) were mine to manage.

My main task as Marketing Assistant was to manage a competition for the companies Centenary (Ackermans 100 Years: “Your Story, Our History”). All relevant management, content created as well as the selection and administration of winners was my responsibility. The best content was then selected by me and was eventually used for a national TV campaign. Furthermore I would do some basic analyses (such as competitor and price comparisons) along with anything else I could find. Eventually, two months before my contract was due to be fulfilled, I was offered a permanent position.

I have assisted with the creation and launch of Leads 4 Africa as a brand. If requested, I also assist with content creation for their blog in the form of written articles.

At CG Consulting I had an all-round role. I created content and posts for the website blogs and social media along with ensuring their timely publishing. Other than these basic marketing functions, I also supported the team with capturing data. Furthermore, I assisted the Manager (Nicholas Carlson) with daily activities. This includes quoting, invoicing and corresponding with clients; answering the phone; greeting guests and other general office functions. Finally I provided reporting on CRM, Sales, Digital Marketing and SEO on a weekly and monthly basis.

Mainly functioning as an account executive, my internship at Admakers was a fulfilling one. I found that working in the high pressure environment of print/publication deadlines exhilarating. Here I also learned quite a bit about dealing with clients and team members in an effective manner.
