Conducted research on existing ordinances across the country to help draft legislation.

• Corresponded with over 350 constituents and other stakeholders on behalf of Senator by email and letter. • Managed 5 constituent casework cases to successful completion. • Conducted legislative research and summarized issues and bills in briefing meetings with the Senator and staff.• Researched an elementary education bill and wrote talking points used by the Senator in a committee meeting.• Assisted in the planning and organizing of a 7-person panel to help the new Internship Program staff members better understand the role of a lobbyist. • Led constituent meetings in person and virtually on behalf of the Senator or office staff.

• 1 of 3 leaders of a national board that represents youth with disabilities to the non-profit organization Family Voices. • Assisted with strategic planning, board recruitment, and project implementations.

• Developed, scheduled, staffed, supported, promoted, and facilitated over 15 programs designed to foster a welcoming environment for all students. • Independently developed several student education programs, including “Disability Jeopardy” as well as holding a campus-wide screening and discussion session of Netflix’s “Crip Camp”. • Trained 8 DEI staff members on assessing potential employers’ commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.

• Selected as a consultant for an on-line panel formed by the academy to improve the awareness surrounding virtual visits during the COVID-19 pandemic for young adults with disabilities. Contributed to the discussion of the pandemic’s effect on healthcare visits and provided input on improvements.• Filmed segment for an academy-produced telehealth video on suitable locations of virtual appointments.

• Researched and completed policy and program analysis scans on hundreds of state disability employment bills.• Wrote several blogs and articles found on the state council legislative website www.capeyouth.org.

• Provided support on statewide initiatives for empowering youth and young adults with disabilities.• Created ideas for engaging clients virtually during COVID-19 pandemic by conducting statewide utilization surveys.

• Assisted in the planning of 2015 Youth Transition Summer Workshop designed to help 15-20 disabled individuals (aged 14-24) with goals for education, work, or independent living. • Utilized experience as a former participant (2013) and Team Leader (2014) to provide program feedback.• Created and led a tutorial on accessible transit systems. Tutorial ended with a field trip to Tacoma Community College using transit buses so participants could gain experience navigating the public transportation system. • Member of 3-person interview team responsible for selecting the participants for this week-long event.
