I like working with numbers, always have. Math has always been my strongest subject, though as my GPA shows, I'm not exactly weak in other areas. Solving an equation or finding the right statistical model can feel almost like a game to me, where the rules are formulas and theory. Finding out these "rules" and how they can be applied is what attracted me to economics in the first place, as the skills and theoretical background provided by an economics education are so broadly applicable, especially when combined with math as a second major. I have a strong background in both qualitative and quantitative economic research methods, having written multiple papers either for classes or independent projects. During my studies I have had experience working with data in RStudio, EViews, Excel, and Mathematica, among other programs. Aside from my economics and math courses, I also have some accounting experience, including a basic knowledge of how to prepare GAAP compliant financial statements.
