I worked as part of the home delivery team/personal shopper to handpick the items from delivery orders. I worked as part of a team to organise the delivery totes into route order to enable efficient and quick dispatch, as well as working independently while picking and packing the items, using coloured bags for chemicals/meat etc. Orders had to be picked within a 20 minute time frame to ensure food quality was not affected before delivery. This role started out as work experience for my Animal Management Diploma at college, to which the owner of the business took me on. I completed tasks such as cleaning the cattery pens using suitable chemicals, ensuring they were thoroughly deep cleaned, rinsing and washing litter trays, food and water bowls, as well as collecting toys to be cleaned and changed. Re-stocking and organising products such as litter, wood chippings, toys, and types of food (dry and wet). Also, I was grooming and socialising cats, towards the end of my time at this establishment, Home From Home Cattery started to work with the Cat's Protection in Peterborough to house cats there, and I would participate in getting the pens ready and settling the cats.
