Restoration of tallgrass ecosystems (tallgrass prairie, sand barren, oak savannah and oak woodlands) in the Rice Lake Plains.

Installed benthic mats on large Eurasian Milfoil colonies in Big Cedar Lake with the goal of suppressing the invasive plants. Transplanted native plants onto the newly installed mats to encourage re-establishment, using snorkels.Informed shoreline property owners about management strategies to reduce the spread of invasive species while still protecting the rest of the ecosystem.Completed tasks with minimal oversight.

Sampled and identified benthic invertebrates in a variety of streams in the Hamilton watershed using provincially accepted protocols.Conducted stream backpack electrofishing, ensuring safety of myself and team, while using proper techniques to reduce harm to fish and collect reliable data.Updated office files daily and organized field records.
