Whilst working at River Island, my responsibilities included, maintaining the upkeep of the store, providing recommendations and my personal insight to customers, and using my knowledge to expand sales. However, with my keen interest in marketing, within my time there I enjoyed aiding River Island with incentive weekends such as Spinning the Wheel! Driving engagement whilst also personalising our brand message and loyalty by providing customers with incentives! I admire River Island as a brand as they keep on trend with target consumers throughout the year whilst having a unique selling point of having all ranges of attire, especially the “mini-me fashion” where customers can dress their whole family in River Island! I have enjoyed helping consumers choose outfits with their children. River Island has also developed the use of e-commerce within their stores where they have set a target to develop their reputation amongst the digital world by sending customers their receipts to their email where the customer now has the opportunity to receive email marketing messages to their mobile devices, expanding their awareness of the brand and be the first to know of any developments of the brand alongside the upcoming launches of promotions!

In one word my time in Nike was simply described as iconic! Nike is a worldwide name in which their motto is “if you have a body you are an athlete”, this I really enjoyed as it represented inclusivity within the brand, indicating the brand loves the consumer just as much as they love the brand!I had the great responsibilities of dressing mannequins along with other commercial and visual merchandising responsibilities within the store where I was able to provide my input and work with my fellow athletes to put together displays that will attract customers, my psychology experience helped me with tasks like this as I believe I had an idea of what a consumer will be wanting to expect when coming into store.It is clear that Nike used many celebrity endorsements and content marketing to promote their brand, this was evident when working in the Liverpool store as we had celebrities such as Tony Bellew and Missy Bo Kearns come into store! I enjoyed having the opportunity to meet many big names during my time there as it represented how successful the brand is, especially as before starting I was provided with weeks of training learning about the importance of innovation amongst the enterprise.
