As a senior at the University of Texas at San Antonio majoring in Computer Science with a concentration and minor in Cybersecurity, I have aggregated a strong technical foundation and a passion for solving complex technological problems. I would state that my biggest asset is the ability to absorb knowledge quickly, and work hard enough to understand it to use in a proficient way. Most of my experience and knowledge comes from my courses taken in university, and my own personal projects. My knowledge learned in class acted as a base for my understanding of computer science as a whole. Most of my more complex knowledge came in the form of research, as I aimed to create more complex projects that required greater knowledge. I would consider myself a very technical person, which is why my career interest are related to reverse engineering and SOC analysis. In a standout project, my team and I were tasked with reversing a C++ program that decrypted files using a custom encryption algorithm. Given only the decryption executable, we collaborated to develop the corresponding encryption executable via reverse engineering. This project involved the use of hex file analysis, disassemblers such as IDA and Ghidra, debuggers, like GDB and Visual Studio, and decompilers. Through teamwork, we shared insights and ideas, leveraging each other's strengths to successfully complete our goal. Additionally, I have participated in Project Xander, which entailed forming a team, and assessing a real world company. This was done by working with a mentor from MITRE, and using NIST standards to perform an assessment on a real world company, and producing an extensive report of findings an recommendations. I believe these two projects highlighted my leadership abilities and communication skills, as I was not given an experienced team. Despite this, in both projects I was able to guide the team, and earn a good score. What sets me apart is my ability to learn quickly and collaborate effectively. I’m passionate about working with others to solve technical challenges, and I’m driven by the opportunity to grow as a programmer and cybersecurity expert.MBTI: ISTJ
