Waiter

Birmingham Hilton Metropole, Aston Villa Football Club

Verve people being a hospitality agency meant I was sent to work at different locations and events. This meant I had to adapt quickly to new environments and situations to provide the high level of customer service that the high profile clients expected. I worked at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole regularly at their large corporate dinners and weddings for up to 1200 people. I was often team leader, leading my team of three we had to serve fifty people a three course meal. Strict time restraints meant I had to organise my team to work logically and fast while providing a high level of customer service. It was important to remember the requirements and requests of the customers, forgetting these would put everyone behind schedule and forgetting a dietary requirement could have very serious consequences. I found the customer facing environment and working in a team very rewarding.
