Learning Support Assistant for Secondary School students from years 7-11. Assisting students with SEN, offering in class support and 1 on 1 support outside of lessons.

I spent 6 weeks in 2022 at Meriscope Marine Research Station in Portneuf-Sur-Mer, Quebec, Canada. Over this period, I spent a large quantity of time collecting, analysing and researching past and present data on both the change in Sea Surface Temperature and Chlorophyll A levels in the St. Lawrence Estuary. The investigation also looked at how this has impacted the biodiversity of marine mammals in the area. I used this data to form the main structure of my dissertation in my 3rd year at the University of Liverpool, for which I received a grade of a 2:1. I thoroughly enjoyed my time spent at Meriscope and I would like to thank all involved who helped and supported me during the data collection and research.

I spent a couple of months working as a Gap Assistant and Outdoor Instructor at King's College. As a Gap Assistant, I had the opportunity to work alongside staff at one of the leading private schools in New Zealand. At the school, this involved assisting the teachers and admin staff with a variety of tasks around the school. It also involved supervision of students in boarding houses. A major part of the role was to help lead at several 1-week field trips across remote areas of New Zealand's North Island. These trips gave students the opportunity to engage in a range of outdoor adventure pursuits and helped build relationships and resilience.

During my time as a classroom assistant at Glebelands School, I assisted students with SEN or behavioural issues as well as teachers with in class support.

Internship with Think Pacific which consisted of a 4 week team volunteer project in Daku village, Moturiki Island, Fiji. These projects are run in partnership with the Fijian Government and involve cultural immersion in a rural village, living with a traditional Fijian family and working on a building project- in which we constructed a kindergarten school.This enabled me to view some of the first hand effects of climate change in this part of the world.

Sayers Croft Field Centre are focused on providing an area for educational and residential field trips for students living in urban areas- allowing these students to experience new opportunities. During my time as an outdoor instructor at Sayers Croft Field Centre, I led a number of different outdoor activities for students who had visited on school trips. These included bouldering, caving, ziplines and a balance course. I also accompanied other members of staff on hikes around the grounds with the students, and educating them on the local flora and fauna.
